Grammy® Award Winner and US Billboard #1 artist Ricky Kej is an internationally renowned Indian Music Composer, Conservationist and Professor. Ricky Kej composed and produced his latest album ‘SHANTI SAMSARA’, which was launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande in the presence of World Leaders at the United Nations COP21 Climate Change Conference in Paris. For Shanti Samsara, Ricky collaborated with over 500 musicians in over 40 countries, all coming together for Environmental Consciousness. Ricky went on to performing music from this album twice at the United Nations General Assembly, NY among other prestigious venues all over the world.
His repertoire of work consists of 15 studio albums released internationally, over 3,500 commercials and 3 feature films. He scored music for the opening ceremony of the Cricket World Cup 2011, held in Dhaka-Bangladesh.
Ricky was recently awarded the United Nations "Global Humanitarian Artist". Among other awards to his credit, he has also won Producer of the year at the South African Music Awards (S.Africa), Album of the year at the Zone Music Awards (New Orleans), Global Indian Music Award and Mirchi Music Awards (India), Centre for Conscious Creativity ‘FutureVision’ Award (Los Angeles). Ricky is also conferred with the title "Pride of Karnataka" and “Youth Icon of India".
Darlene has a Grammy® Award and three Grammy® Nominations. She is known globally as the featured soprano soloist in ‘Yanni, Live at the Acropolis’. Darlene has sung in thousands of movies, television shows, CDs, commercials, live shows and more. She has a Platinum album for her vocal work on Pink Floyd’s ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’. She is also known worldwide as the tambourine-waving choir nun in both ‘Sister Act’ films with Whoopi Goldberg.
Hai Phuong is one of the leading Dan Tranh musicians in the world. A Graduate of HCMC Conservatory (Zither Performance Department), she won ‘The First Prize’ and ‘The Best Contemporary Music Performer Prize’ in ‘The First National Concours of Young Zither talents 1992’. She has performed in several National and International Music Festivals. Currently, Hai Phuong is a teacher of Tranh Zither in HCMC conservatory.
Grammy® nominated and multi-award-winning flautist Ron Korb is famous for playing a wide variety indigenous woodwinds from around the world. His critically acclaimed music has been released in twenty countries on various record labels. He has toured extensively throughout Europe, Canada, The USA, Central America, Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore and Japan. Ron’s compositions are evoke imagery of the diverse cultural traditions and experiences of his travels.
Ron has performed for Queen Elizabeth, Princess Takamado of Japan, Princess Bopha Devi of Cambodia, and was featured on the World Youth Day recording for Pope John Paul and the Dalai Lama’s World Festival of Sacred Music in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He has also shared stages with Peter Gabriel, Jane Siberry, Tia Carrere, Liona Boyd, The Yardbirds, Olivia Newton John and Cesaria Evora.
Ron has played many movie soundtracks which have been nominated for Oscars and Cannes Film Festival awards. Some of the films have included Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil, Atom Egoyan’s Exotica, Sweet Hereafter and Felicia’s Journey, Nõ by Robert Lepage, Mira Nair’s Kama Sutra, John Woo’s Blackjack and the 3D IMAX film Space Station narrated by Tom Cruise.
Mehmet Ali Sanlikol
Mehmet is a Grammy® nominated Turkish-American composer and CMES Harvard University fellow who is a jazz pianist and singer, who also performs a number of Near and Middle Eastern instruments as well as the Continuum Fingerboard.The Boston Globe calls Sanlıkol’s music “colorful, fanciful, full of rhythmic life, and full of feeling" and "not touristy, but rather sophisticated, informed, internalized”
Rajesh Raman Aka Blaaze
Writer of the UN Anthem for Poverty 'Pray For Me Brother', Blaaze the Rhythmic Poet, is also the worlds first Sanskrit Rapper. A Zambian with Indian Genes, Blaaze was called MTV Youth Icon for his Raps on social issues.
A versatile singer, songwriter, performer, producer and musician, Charanraj is a very successful composer in the Kannada movie industry. He recently won the top and most coveted prize ‘State Award for Best Composer’. A regular collaborator with Ricky Kej, he also was an integral part of Ricky’s Grammy® Winning album ‘Winds of Samsara’.
Manoj is a violinist and composer of repute. He has performed as a conductor, string arranger and choral arranger in the Grammy® award winning album Winds of Samsara. His wide repertoire include scoring music for Malayalam and Kannada feature films, documentaries, short films and commercials.
With over 20 years in the music industry, Muthu Kumar has made a niche for himself as a percussionist par excellence. Having studied under legends Ustad Allarakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain, Muthu has traveled around the globe many times and performed on many prestigious stages and festivals. He has collaborated with musicians around the world, across genres and has accompanied the likes of Alice Coltrane, Maynard Ferguson, John Barnes, Bill Laswell, Dana Gillespie, Bombay Jayashree, Mandolin U. Rajesh and Lucky Ali to name a few. Muthu has recorded on numerous albums and is one of the pioneers in the field of Online Tabla learning.
