Capt. Zoya Agarwal (Commander, Boeing-777)
Webinar Series: Women are changing the world
Webinar Topic: What flights taught me about staying grounded
Webinar Date: March 7, 2021
In this session, Captain Zoya Agarwal shares her experience of operating the world’s longest commercial flight that crossed the North Pole at 34,000 feet in the sky and the lead up to the take off that she hopes will inspire many.
Captain Zoya Agarwal is a Commander ranked pilot with Air India.
Professionally, she talks about the various challenges of polar flying, dealing with the AMU area of magnetic unreliability where the horizontal component of earth’s magnetic field virtually disappears, making the magnetic compass highly unreliable and the rapidly converging longitudes coming together as one point, North Pole or NOPOL
She is a frequent speaker at high schools in minority localities and encourages students to think beyond their poor surroundings.
